The Jammu and Kashmir Panthers Party and Congress today hit out at the state government on the issue of separatist leader Asiya Andrabis photo featuring in a poster on Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign.
Andrabi, who is now detained under the Public Safety Act, heads Dukhtaran-e-Millat.
The poster was put up at a function attended by ministers, lawmakers and top officials to promote girl education in Kokernag town in Breng Valley of Anantnag district on the International Girl Child Day on Wednesday. Dukhtaran-e-Milat chief Asiya Andrabi's photograph was featured in a "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" poster at a tourism festival in Anantnag.
Strongly condemning the portrayal of Asiya Andrabi as a women achiever with women legends like Indira Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Lata Mangeshkar, Habba Khatoon and Kalpana Chawla, Harsh said that the saffron government had done the greatest dis-service to the nation.
Goodell's anonymous defender on social media turns out to be his wife

Asiya Andrabi, the pro-Pakistan separatist leader who got arrested twice in 2017 and who is said to incite women in Kashmir to pelt security forces with stones. Reiterating his demand for dismissal of the unethical BJP-PDP Government, Singh said that having been established that it was working under the dictates of the separatists, it had lost its moral, legal and constitutional right to continue in office.
"An unfortunate incident of mishandling of publicity campaign on "Beti Bachavo, Beti Padhao" took place in Anantnag, wherein the pictures of Asiya Andrabi was displayed on hoardings along with distinguished women achievers of the country".
He said that a CDPO was being made a sacrificial lamb by the government by deflecting the blame to her and by suspending her which was totally unacceptable. Sajjad Lone distanced himself from the goof-up and tweeted that the publicity wing of the department works in decentralized format and CDPO's devise their own publicity campaign which does not require approval of higher authorities.
"In any case the department unambiguously states that Andrabi is not a role model neither for the women of Jammu and Kashmir nor elsewhere in the world".
