Bottoms up! Local breweries win big at Great American Beer Festival

Beers from Spellbound Brewing in Mount Holly, Eight & Sand Beer Woodbury and River Horse Brewing Ewing all won awards in the Great American Beer Festival.

According to the GABF, breweries enter their beers to be judged by the festival's Professional Judge Panel.

Schlafly earned a silver medal for its Pumpkin Ale, and Perennial's Maman 2017 won silver in the wood and barrel-aged strong stout category. The top three winners in the competition's 98 beer-style categories were announced October 7 at the Great American Beer Festival awards ceremony.

For the Empire State, Bay Shore's Great South Bay Brewery's Jetty Ale claimed the silver in honey beer, a category that had 69 entries.

Hauck & Aufhaeuser set a €69.00 ($81.18) price objective on United Internet AG (ETR:UTDI) in a report published on Monday morning. They expect this year's earnings to rise 25.97% year-over-year to $2.91, followed by 3.78% growth in the next year to $3.02.

Iron Hill was topped in the imperial stout category by 2SP Brewing Co.'s The Russian, which was awarded gold.

Joining Stony Creek Brewery, two other CT craft breweries took home medals.

Locally, Everett-based Night Shift Brewing won the silver medal in the Classic Saison category for Matisse, while Cambridge Brewing Co. took home the bronze in the Mixed Culture Brett Beer category for Cor Cordium, a beer brewed in collaboration with the Texas-based Jester King Brewery. Bloomfield's Back East Brewing's Porter beer took home the gold out of 57 entries in the brown porter category.

The festival said it represents the largest collection of USA beer ever served, according to its website.
