Debate erupts over resurfaced video of Jason Momoa making a rape joke

Jason Mamoa I love raping beautiful women on Game of Thrones

Video of Jason Mamoa making a horrific rape joke is making the rounds

Jason Momoa has released an apology after a comment he once made about getting to "rape lovely women" on Game of Thrones spread online years later.

Momoa's comments came at the 2011 Game Of Thrones panel at San Diego Comic Con: "As far as sci-fi and fantasy go as a genre there is so many things you can do... like rape handsome women".

Momoa then jokes: "And rape attractive women and have them fall in love with me, you know what I mean?"

Game of Thrones has been constantly criticised for its portrayal of rape throughout the series.

That now includes actor Jason Momoa, made famous by his role as the burly Dothraki lord Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones.

Multiple shootings reportedly strike town in Sweden
Aron Tydén told local newspaper Expressen : 'I was at home at my computer when I heard a loud bang. "There were many shots". Police say the violence is not being treated as a terrorist attack and officers are continuing to hunt for the gunman.

After someone asked Momoa what he liked about being on the show, he said he loves being able to "get away" with so much stuff, like ripping someone's tongue out of their throat, and getting to "rape handsome women".

Others defended the clip, saying it was old and it was referring to his character in the show.

"Yeah, I'm raping Emilia [Clarke, who plays Daenerys]".

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Momoa for comment. "But the good news was I'm not a rapist". Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time, ' Chapman said in a statement.

Momoa is set to play super hero Aquaman in the upcoming Justice League film along side Ben Affleck, who has been accused of groping several women in the wake of the Weinstein allegations.
