High school student charged for making threat against school

Roberts says five Brunswick High School students' names were then listed. These rumors were amplified by a Snapchat post which speculated about a threat against other schools, creating greater fear on Thursday night.

Superintendent of Schools Tom Scarice said there was a rumor that there had been a post insinuating some sort of attack or threat on the building, but officials have very few details at this moment because no one can produce the post.

John Eby with the Pickens County School District said there was never any threat conveyed.

Absences will be excused with a parents note, Eby said.

The male student at Powhatan High School was charged with making threats to commit serious bodily harm to persons on school property.

49ers officially release linebacker NaVorro Bowman
He ranks seventh overall in tackles (505) during that span, despite missing 20 games to injury over two of the past three seasons. Even if the Colts don't sign him, they should and probably will at least kick the tires and reach out to Bowman's agent.

The police department and the school department did not immediately provide additional information about the threat and its contents.

The school and the police department are taking "appropriate action", police said. However, we are also careful not to assist in the spread of misinformation which is sometimes spread by students out of a desire to disturb or skip school.

"Every student we have talked to has said, "Oh well I don't have it" or 'A friend of mine told me they saw it, '" he said.

In a Facebook post, the department says it will "continue to be vigilant" and there will be a noticeable police presence at both schools on Friday.

A few extra police officers were put on duty this morning for extra support.
