A history-sheeter has been arrested in connection with the killing of a techie from Odisha which the police today said was a fallout of road rage.

A 28-year-old software engineer from Bhuwaneswar was stabbed to death in Bengaluru on Monday around 3 AM when he was on his way to meet his girlfriend.

He was attacked after his two-wheeler scraped against another belonging to Kartik and his friend on the outskirts of the city.

As Misra refused to pay, they chased and intercepted him before stabbing him to death, Boralingaiah said. Mishra's mobile phone and wallet were found from the place where he was stabbed, giving police an indication that the suspects could be somebody known to him and the motive could be personal vengeance.

The owner said his friends Karthik and Arun, had taken the vehicle on Sunday night.

When police tried to arrest the accused, they resisted and threw stones.

During the arrest, inspector Manjunath also sustained minor injuries on his head. He has been shifted to the St Johns Hospital for treatment. "A search is on for Karthik's associate", Seemanth Kumar Singh, Additional Commissioner of Police (East) told BM. The police have intensified manhunt for Arun.
