"I had begun making the rangoli on Friday and in 48 hours, I had completed only about half of the picture". With back-to-back hit films to her name, Deepika has proved herself as a bankable star among the young lot of actresses in Bollywood.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati is the story of Chittor's Rani Padmini played by Deepika Padukone, who performed jauhar (a custom of mass immolation to avoid capture, enslavement and rape by foreign invaders) with several other Rajput women after Alauddin Khilji (played by Shahid Kapoor) invaded their fort. Shahid Kapoor plays Rani Padmini's husband Ratan Singh in the film.

Karan was creating the lovely art work ahead of Diwali after being inspired by the movie trailer and snippets.

When Sanjay Leela Bhansali got to know about it then he immediately fired the driver from his job.

This is not the first instance that the film is facing threats as few days earlier, Rajput Karni army, an organization of Rajput community, burned the poster and threatened to release the film.

Inflation drops marginally to 15.98%
The step-up in CPI was driven by higher food and transport costs, pushing the headline rate to levels not seen since April 2012. Meanwhile Aegon investment director Nick Dixon said higher inflation made a hike in interest rates more likely.

Meanwhile, a rangoli of Deepika's Padmavati poster, made by an artist in Gujarat's Surat, was vandalised by a group of protesters.

The mob while shouting "Jai Shree Ram" reached the spot and in less than a minute ruined the work of art. A crowd of 100 people cried JAY SRI RAM n rubbed out my 48 hrs' intense work! He tagged actor Ranveer Singh and wrote: "Padmavati Rangoli Controversy!"

Padmavati is a period drama in which Deepika will be seen playing the role of Queen Padmini.

The film is slated to release on December 1, this year.
