Including the change in gas prices in Texas during the past week, prices yesterday were 34.4 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are unchanged versus a month ago. But those prices have held steady over the weekend.

The survey also found that the average price of gas in MA if $2.53 per gallon, which is three cents below the national average.

"Apparently, this year is playing a trick on motorists", said Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy.

The four-cent jump in gas prices at many Meadville-area outlets almost matched the increase across the state.
