Earlier, on April 29, a prisoner was shot dead in the premises of Rohini court when he was being produced in the court for a hearing. He had been absconding for the past seven years in a cheating case registered at the south Rohini police station in 2010, over a sale of a plot there.

Delhi Police today arrested a man for opening fire near Rohini Court Complex.

"Khan was not more than 10 metres from Balle when he fired at him. Meanwhile, Balle, who had sustained grievous injury and was profusely bleeding, was taken to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital where he was declared dead", said a senior police officer.

Nevertheless, this is not the 1st chance a man has started the fire inside Rohini Court. However, lawyers along with common people managed to apprehend the accused. "The incident happened near the canteen area while he was being escorted and the shooter, who was arrested at the spot, is suspected to have been dressed as a litigant".

According to the police, the incident was a fallout of a gang rivalry. He said police had not ascertained the reason behind the murder. Police identified the victim as Vinod alias Ballu. He had been arrested on October 30. "Vinod used to fix cars".

The incharge responsible for the security of Rohini court i.e. Incharge of Police Post Rohini Court Sub Inspector Narender has been placed under suspension and Station House Officer Prashant Vihar has been sent to district lines pending further inquiry, the DCP added.

This is the second incident of murder in and around the Rohini Court premises when in April this year, a 38-year-old undertrial was gunned down by two people outside gate number 3 of Rohini court.

A prisoner who the police was escorting for a hearing in a court in Delhi has died after being shot at.

Vinod, according to police records, was arrested for his alleged involvement in a land fraud case dating back to 2010 in Rohini. A bullet hit Rajesh shoulder and pierced through the chest, following which he collapsed.
