The King is returning, stronger than ever. Today, Chevrolet has officially revealed the 2019 Corvette ZR1, which it says "pushes Corvette's performance legacy with the highest power, greatest track performance and most advanced technology in its production history".
Even so, you likely won't be able to match the ZR1's overall performance at its price, no matter how hard you try. This new ZR1 puts down 755 horsepower and 715 lb-ft of torque from a 6.2-liter supercharged V8.
We have been waiting for months to see what GM had up its sleeve for the ultimate Corvette that would receive the ZR1 moniker, and we finally got a good look at it when a Road & Track cover accidentally revealed a few images and details of the vehicle.
Two rear wing designs are available for the 2019 Corvette ZR1, each tied directly to the chassis just like with the Corvette C7.R racing auto. From the most recent leak, we already had a pretty good idea what this vehicle would be: basically a Z06 with a huge wing and 750 horsepower thanks to a larger throttle body, bigger supercharger, better cooling, and more potent fuel injection system. It's also Chevrolet's first employment of dual-fuel-injection, which combines primary direct injection with supplemental port injection. With the automatic, you get a set of paddle shifters, but they're mounted to the steering wheel rather than the steering column. It's the first time an automatic transmission has been offered in a ZR1.
As you might suspect, keeping all that power - and, indeed, the Corvette ZR1 - on the road or track is going to be tricky. A new carbon fiber "halo" hood rises high and is open in the center in order to clear the bigger supercharger and intercooler. That'll deliver the maximum downforce, with Chevy claiming around 60-percent more than the Z06 with its Z07 Performance Package. Chevy does claim a top speed of over 210 miles per hour, which is very impressive. "The new wings, for example, help generate more downforce without adding drag, enhancing road holding and top speed". The standard Low Wing offers a higher top speed and produces up to 70% more downforce than the Z06's wing.
The high wing comes with the "ZTK Performance Package", which includes a front splitter, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 summer-only tires, and re tuned magnetic ride control. And two rear wing styles are available, each tied directly to the car's chassis as in the Corvette C7.R racing auto. The ZR1 makes its debut with the Sebring Orange Design Package.

Los Angeles' defense racked up three sacks, two interceptions and two forced fumbles on Savage. Goff found Woods again for the former USC Trojans receiver's second touchdown of the game.
A further option, the "Sebring Orange Design Package", adds orange accents as well as orange seat belts and stitching combined with the Sebring Orange Tintcoat paint.
What else makes the new Corvette ZR1 so special?
Inside the cockpit, Chevrolet threw in its best mix of materials, including leather for the seats and suede microfiber inserts.
