In their statement, the human rights groups said that residents willing to participate by voting in the election should be armed with their voters' cards and avoid acts of violence capable of undermining the smooth conduct of the exercise.

IPOB members marched through major roads in Onitsha capital of the state late last week following which they called for the poll boycott adding that anyone that went out to vote will die.

They waved Biafra flags and distributed handbills with inscriptions such as, "IPOB's calls for referendum is not call for war", "Biafra Exit"; "Our Mumu Don Do"; "No election in Anambra, no election in Biafra land, sit-at-home", etc.

"A country like Nigeria riddled with institutionalised injustice can not conduct a free and fair election".

Also the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 5000 armed and unarmed personnel to Anambra State for the election. We will not participate, we will not vote.

The report explained that the assurance from 179 communities under the aegis of the Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU), is a positive sign that would facilitate mobilisation of voters.

"IPOB Intelligence Unit has uncovered plans by APC to import voters from Imo State with the help of Rochas Okorocha".

Their key message is that Anambrarians should boycott the election, threatening that whoever votes will die. What this means is that our vote doesn't count. Powerful basted, making reference to the now concluded Operation Python dance of the Nigerian Army.

"We will put Anambra State on lockdown on November 18".

The group warned anybody who comes out to vote on the election day to be ready to bear the consequences. We want every ethnic group in Nigeria to be free from the bondage of colonial amalgamation imposed on everybody.

The party said that it wishes to "advise all purveyors of electoral malfeasance and brigandage who are neck-deep and hell-bent on rigging the election to have a rethink, repent and jettison the unwholesome, diabolical and untenable idea".

In the same vein, INEC has expressed its readiness to conduct a credible election.

This development is arising when preparations for the Anambra polls are in high gear.

The suspects according to a source said that they were caught distributing flyers and posters with caption "No Election In Anambra State".
