Bakayoko was left out of France's squad during the current global fortnight. He believes the midfielders selected are no better than him, including N'Golo Kante.

While most of Chelsea's squad have been away from Stamford Bridge during the worldwide break, one player who remained at Cobham is Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko will be hoping to break back into the France setup ahead of the World Cup. Bakayoko believes that no one now on the France midfield roster for their friendlies against Wales and Germany is superior to him. This claim has surprised many a Chelsea fans and neutrals as well.

Bakayoko was upset to be left out of the French national team and made a bold statement on French TV station Canal +, as per L'Equipe.

"I think [Adrien] Rabiot, Kante, [Blaise] Matuidi, Tolisso aren't better than me", he said.

"I respect the coach's decision and I also respect the players who were called up - they are talented, some are friends of mine".

"I'm disappointed. I believe in this World Cup [next summer], it remains a goal". I am proud that they are selected, I would like to be with them.

The Frenchman has since settled in quite nicely at Chelsea, featuring in every Premier League contest but one, and starting eight. "I'm playing for a big club, I think that can work in my favour".

"But I'm not below them".

All facts into consideration, Kante is far better than Bakayoko by any measure. His successes has attracted interest in him from all over Europe, however, he has chosen to stay with the Blues and with Antonio Conte.
