President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday threw his weight behind Governor Nasir El-Rufai's decision to sack 22,000 teachers in Kaduna State who failed competency test and recruit 25,000 new ones.
The group called on the people to reject the orchestrated political gang-up to deliberately divert the attention of the transparent Government assiduous effort to aggressively develop Kaduna State socio-economic infrastructures and the educational sector.
President Buhari, who opened a Special Retreat of the Federal Executive Council on the challenges facing Nigeria's education sector in Abuja, said there is urgent need for comprehensive national reform.

Architect Muhammad Namadi Sambo's Administration as Governor of Kaduna State gave this earring teachers four years to obtain NCE they failed, late Mr. Ibrahim Yakowa of blessed memory gave these teachers additional four years which was concluded by Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero to earn NCE yet they failed.
"The hiring of teachers in the past was politicized and we intend to change that by bringing in young and qualified primary school teachers to restore the dignity of education in the state", El-Rufai said.
