Completed hats must be mailed to American Heart Association, 190 Knox Abbott Drive, Cayce SC 29033. They're hoping to give out thousands of red hats to babies to raise awareness about heart health and congenital heart defects.

Donated hats should be made with yarns that are red, cotton or acrylic, medium to heavy weight, machine washable and dryable. The project has grown to include 660 hospitals in 40 states handing out more than 100,000 hats.
The Little Hats, Big Hearts project began in February 2014 in Chicago and collected 300 hats.
It's part of their "Little Hats, Big Hearts" program to encourage moms to live healthy lives and help guide their children to do the same.
