Burnley boss Sean Dyche 'was never approached by Everton over manager's job'

Guardiola has led the club to 15 Premier League wins in a row

With Dyche's Burnley now sixth in the Premier League - on the same number of points as Liverpool and Tottenham - the job links are becoming greater and grander.

Chris Hughton's side have taken just two points from the last six games.

Burnley, who returned to top-flight under Dyche last season, have won nine and drawn four of their 17 league games and are level with fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur and fifth-placed Liverpool on 31 points.

"For a club that has the finances and infrastructure they do, to be riding as high as they are now and looking consistent in every game speaks really highly for everybody concerned there".

"In an era when we want to see as many British managers in the game it's great to see one doing as well as Sean is". While Burnley have been incredible defensively, the conservative style of play has them in the bottom half in goals.

Derry native Shane Duffy has been an ever-present for Brighton this season and should start at the heart of the defence as his side go on the hunt for a first win in six days.

Now a side flirting with the top four, on Saturday afternoon, Sean Dyche's highflying Burnley will look to carry on their recent fine run of form.

Only Manchester United and Manchester City (both 11) have conceded fewer goals than Burnley (12) in the Premier League this season.

Burnley have won six of their last eight league matches, as many as they had won in their previous 26 fixtures. Brighton have struggled lately, slipping to 13th in the league table. Over that same stretch, the team have picked up only one point.

Chris Wood has scored five goals in his last five league starts against ex-club Brighton - including twice for Leeds in March.
