According to the report, both iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have survived better in the tumbler test. Tumbler is a rotating chamber that repeatedly drops a phone from a height of about 2.5 feet to test the damage made by the drops. However, these results combined with the iPhone X's comparatively low battery-life showing (see below) did knock the phone down a few spots in our rankings, says Fisco, who leads CR's phone testing program. The front display of iPhone X, 8 and 8 Plus performed outstanding and iPhone X did well on scratch test and water resistance tests. It released the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X, as in 10 not the alphabet.
Consumer Reports tested the 64GB iPhone X model and praised the device's display. The iPhone X's battery life has impacted its overall score the most. The iPhone has an edge-to-edge Super Retina OLED screen with no home button. Consumer Reports said photos taken with the 10th anniversary iPhone were "sharp, with excellent color reproduction, and video was very sharp as well".

In the meantime, Apple refused to accept the result of the experiment, claiming that the iPhone X is the most durable glass-based smartphone, although it commented that Consumer Reports tested the durability of the iPhone X with strict criteria. The site pointed out flaws with the battery and the device's durability.
The iPhone X isn't the first phone to fail our tumble test.

Teams from the same country cannot play each other in the last 16, which limits who Chelsea can play in first knockout stage. Group winners are drawn against second place sides and play away first, with the second legs at home.
While Consumer Reports called the iPhone X an "innovative device with a fantastic camera and handsome display" and mentioned it in the recommended list, it lost out to its predecessors, iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus in a full comparison of the phones in the durability test category. The site's testing on the iPhone's battery showed the handset beat the iPhone 8 and the iPhone SE, but did not do as well as the iPhone 8 Plus.
When subjected to shock 50 times, the display of two out of three iPhone Xs no longer worked properly, and the back of the phone broke when it was dropped 100 times.
The Consumer Report recently conducted several tests on the new iPhone X. These tests included tests in handling, durability, battery life, functionality and special features.
For example, our testers also reported broken displays and back panels when they tumbled Samsung's almost all-glass Galaxy S8 and S8+ phones.
Durability is something to think about if you're considering a purchase of the iPhone X. The phone isn't just expensive to buy; it's also unusually pricey to fix.
