"It is a true Lamborghini in terms of design, performance, driving dynamics and emotion as well as drivable every day in a range of environments".
Powered by a 650 horsepower, 4.0 litre, twin-turbocharged V8, Lambo claims the Urus can hit 100 kilometres per hour in just 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 305km/h, besting the Bentley Bentayga's 301km/h mark.
The Italian supercar manufacturer says the first of its hybrid vehicles will be its new Sports Utility Vehicle, the URUS, unveiled on Monday and dubbed by the brand the world's first super-SUV.
That grunt is driven through a four-wheel drive system with an active torque differential to divert the power around the chassis to where it is needed most.
The Urus utilizes a lightweight chassis with a predominant use of high-strength aluminum and steel.

Styling is inspired from the classic LM002 as well as the aforementioned Aventador and Huracán supercars. It has short, muscular overhangs, a low center of gravity, a coupe-like silhouette, low roofline, dynamic body lines and an aggressive front fascia.
The Urus is said to offer easy driving in the city, maximum comfort during long journeys, thrilling super sports auto dynamics on the road and track, plus versatile off-road abilities in a range of environments. From the front splitter and large air intakes to the floating rear wing and rear spoiler, these elements all contribute to the vehicle's overall drag coefficient.
Inside, the sporty, luxurious cabin complements the Urus' dynamic exterior design. High-quality leather, alcantara, carbon fibre, and polished woods are replete throughout. It also features hexagonal vents, cupholders while the three-spoke steering wheel comes with vibration damping feature. This being Lamborghini, upgrades are always upgrades, such as 23-inch rims, a 1,700 watt Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system with 21 speakers, or an off-road package with reinforced bumpers and underfloor protection.
Lamborghini expects to begin delivery of the Urus in the spring of 2018. It will have a starting price of $200,000.
