THE magnitude of this one can't really be underestimated - although the division won't be decided by the result with two games still to play after this.
It's not a situation that many people saw coming.
The 2017 Chargers are one of 16 teams since 2008 with an FPI rating between 5 and 6 following Week 14, and are one of only two of those teams to have a 7-6 record (the 2008 Eagles, another team with a similar profile, was 7-5-1 at this stage).
It's hard to believe that at one point, the Los Angeles Chargers were 0-4 while the Kansas City Chiefs were 4-0. Los Angeles is in a rhythm of its own, being the victor of seven of its last nine games.
Currently, Los Angeles is seeded No. 8 in the AFC behind both the Ravens and Bills for the No. 6, and final, wild-card round playoff spot. Granted, that's not 100% a sure thing.
Now, both teams match up in a playoff-like atmosphere for the right to control their own destiny.
Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+ CAD images, 360-degree videos surface
There are rumours circulating that Galaxy S9 will be introduced in three versions, that is, S9 standard, S9 plus, and mini phone. It is not known where Samsung will launch the Galaxy S9 and S9+ but Bloomberg says the phones will go on sale in early March.
Everyone Is Picking The Chargers... It has seemed to be nearly unanimous that everyone is picking the Chargers.
Caldwell is under contract for at least two more years thanks to a multiyear extension, a deal the team didn't announce until months after he signed it, but a late-season slide may warm his seat.
Personally, I don't see it.
As they did against Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving, the Chargers could use a spy in the middle of the field to help contain Smith. "They're playing good football, high-level football on both sides". There is simply too much momentum for the Chargers and too many question marks for the Chiefs. Kansas City put up 17 points against Dallas' No.17 scoring defense. The Chiefs aren't as strong as their start, but they're also not as bad as their four-game losing streak before last week's win over the Raiders. A 7-2 surge by the Bolts has them over.500 for the first time this season; a 2-6 slump by Kansas City took them from AFC darlings to the precipice of missing the playoffs. The AFC West has come down to a showdown between these two.
Find your playmakers: The Bolts will have to deal with the loud environment at Arrowhead Stadium in a nationally televised Saturday night game, but Rivers has been there before and will have his teammates ready to deal with the environment.
In winning their last four games, the Chargers have been dominant in all four contests for the most part. Also, not to be arrogant, but I'm not all that anxious about the Dolphins or Broncos anyways. For the first half of the season, the Chiefs were an indomitable force heralded by Kareem Hunt on the ground and Tyreek Hill as well as Alex Smith through the air. There's been nothing to suggest, however, that the Chargers are the significantly better overall team, and that's what this line is implying.
THE QUOTE: "It's nice to score points, but when you don't win, it doesn't matter". Pittsburgh is the only top-15 defense to play the Chiefs in the last two months, and Kansas City only scored 13 points in a loss to the Steelers.
