Soulcalibur VI Announced And Its Coming In 2018

Soul Calibur 6 Revealed at The Game Awards 2017

During The Game Awards, Bandai Namco surprised audiences with a special announcement. Soulcalibur V didn't receive the same acclaim as earlier games in the seires, and many fans anxious about the future of the franchise.

The most recent entry in the mainline series, Soulcalibur 5, was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012.

We see classic Soul Calibur 3D weapon-based fighting, with side-stepping, blocking and parrying.

2017 was a solid year for fighting games, with titles like Injustice 2 and Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite coming out, but it seems like next year will be even better. Only time will tell.

Hideo Kojima Reveals New Death Stranding Trailer
Hideo Kojima's first big project after parting ways with Konami, Death Stranding will feature Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen. Starring Norman Reedus front and center, we can finally make sense out of the creepy baby dolls shown in previous teasers.

It's been almost five years since the last time we stepped into the arena, brandished our shields and our swords, and let our souls burn in a heated battle.

Soulcalibur 6 is finally happening. Not that we're complaining.

Nonetheless, hopefully SoulCalibur 6 isn't hamstrung by season passes, an online only component, and barebones single-player content that we've seen in other fighting games this generation like Street Fighter and Marvel vs. Capcom.
