An Ola cab driver allegedly harassed a 23-year-old woman after trapping her in the vehicle using child lock on Sunday night in Bengaluru.
The Ola cab driver had also threatened the passenger against complaining saying that Ola firm doesn't pay heed to such complaints'.
"Safety of customers is our priority and we will continue to extend our full support to this investigation against the driver", the statement said.
It said the customer has been asked to lodge a formal complaint with the authorities.
The incident took place on Sunday night at around 10.30 pm when the woman was travelling alone from Indiranagar to BTM Layout in the Ola cab driven by Rajashekhar Reddy. The woman, whose mobile phone battery had run out, could not alert anyone and was let go by the driver after she started banging on the windows and screamed. The woman, a fashion stylist, says the Ola cab driver suddenly stopped. He then tried touching the woman inappropriately.

The woman also alleged that the company did not inform her of taking any action against the driver.
Speaking on the incident with IBT Times, Ola spokesperson said: "We regret the unfortunate experience the customer had during their ride".
The woman then approached Madiwala police station. However, she did not file a formal complaint with the police, an ANI report said. When the police investigated, Reddy defended saying that he did not molest the woman and only tried to help her open the door which was child-locked.
Another shocking incident was reported in September where an Ola cab driver allegedly assaulted a businessman with iron rod near CV Raman Road.
"The company on its part has claimed that it has taken necessary actions and the driver has been "off-roaded".
