No fewer than 30 officials and players of Kwara United on Wednesday escaped death by a whisker following an auto accident involving their coaster bus and a stationary truck at Moniya, Ibadan. The club president told newsmen on that God had been faithful to the team.

Describing how the accident occurred, he said that their bus attempted to avoid hitting a vehicle.

The Ilorin-based team had a great season in the Nigerian National League (NNL) last season, which ensured they got promotion to the NPFL for the new season.

He said that the degree of the accident was high but God saved all the lives involved.

According to several reports, some players were injured in the crash and have been taken to an undisclosed hospital.

Bibire said the remaining officials and players, who did not sustain injuries, were later conveyed by another vehicle to Ilorin.
