Alaska Airlines selects destinations for new service from Paine Field

Alaska Airlines announced it will fly 13 daily flights from Everett's Paine Field to eight West Coast cities starting later this year.

The Seattle-based airline said Tuesday the flights from Everett will go to Phoenix, Las Vegas, Portland, Oregon, and California airports in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco and San Jose.

Flight frequencies for each destination, along with departure and arrival times, will be announced later this year, subject to government approval.

Ground was broken in June 2017 for a new passenger terminal featuring two gates and capable of handling around 16 flights per day.

Flights from Paine Field will offer three classes of service: first class, premium class and main cabin, Alaska Airlines said. The two-gate terminal is now being built by Snohomish County and Propeller Airports, with the start of operations set for this fall.

Qatari fighter jets intercept UAE commercial flight
The State of Qatar announces that claims that Qatari fighter jets intercepting an Emirati civilian aircraft is completely untrue.

"This is both a historic occasion and a great honor for Alaska Airlines". "We're proud to become the anchor tenant of the new terminal at Paine Field". Traffic in the booming Seattle metro area has become a major nuisance, especially for those north of the city who have to drive through Seattle to get to city's primary airport, Seattle-Tacoma International.

The passenger growth pushed Sea-Tac closer to its capacity, Alaska Airlines CEO Brad Tilden said in May.

Paine Field at present has no regularly scheduled commercial passenger airline service.

United Air Lines has also signaled its intention to commence flights to Paine Field however at this time the destinations it will serve have not been announced.
