Amazon's Alexa is coming to Toyota and Lexus cars

Amazon's Alexa has been helpful in our homes the last couple of years and now she's ready to give us a hand in our cars as well.

But they contain a decent amount of tech that connects to a wearer's phone and effectively provides a wearable head-up display, a built-in camera, microphone and side-mounted touchpad to make the glasses a "smart" device.

Vuzix is in the business of smart glasses for over 20 years.

The Blade has one advantage over your audio-only Echo speaker, however. Whereas Amazon is looking "to figure out how they can answer more informational types of questions" to catch up to Google, Google is building out partnerships "with big brands like Target and Wal-Mart to help answer more retail-based questions" and keep up with Amazon, he says. Admittedly, Cortana isn't as powerful as its rival, which is capable of controlling other smart devices.

Acer has confirmed that Alexa will be making its way on to the company's products "from Q1 2018".

Acer's batch of Alexa-supported devices include Aspire, Spin, Switch, and Swift notebook series. Alexa will first become available in the USA, with wider support "expected mid-2018".

As with HP, the Pavilion Wave will be the first to come designed specifically with offerings for voice interactions via Amazon Alexa.

Once Alexa is enabled, just ask her to do things like adjust your smart home's temperature so it's comfortable when you get there, add milk to your shopping list on your way to the store, or listen to your audiobook from Audible. This feature will allow Toyota and Lexus customers in the United States to interact with Alexa in the vehicle. Powering the desktop is a 6th Generation Intel Core i3 processor, 8GB RAM, 1TB hard disk storage and Intel HD 530 Graphics.
