Orange County Fire Agency (OCFA) shared photos of the scene, where one person was temporarily trapped in the white saloon vehicle as a fire burned in the building. That fire was later extinguished. Sanchez said the driver managed to get out but was hanging from the vehicle until police could catch him.
Fire crews were on hand to put out a brief fire to the building. The passenger inside the auto also later managed to escape the vehicle.
The Orange County Fire Authority says the Nissan Altima hit a center divider early Sunday, soared into the air and plowed into the top floor of the two-story structure in Santa Ana.

The car's occupants both sustained minor injuries.
OCFA and LA County Urban Search and Rescue teams then began working together to remove the vehicle from the building using a large truck and crane.
