Bandai Namco announces Dark Souls: Remastered for all major platforms

The games included are the recently announced Dark Souls Remastered, Dark Souls II: Scholar Of The First Sin, and Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades Edition.

There's no Xbox One version because the format is irrelevant in Japan, but there's no reason why the box set couldn't also be released for Microsoft's console, or the PC, if it's brought to the West.

The box set is slated to release the same day as Dark Souls: Remastered on May 24, 2018.

This marks the first time the Souls series has appeared on Nintendo hardware. Then head down to the comments and let us know if you're planning to return to Lordran when Dark Souls returns to stores later this year.

In a bit of a twist, Bandai Namco partnered with Nintendo to announce the next wave of Dark Souls ports during Thursday's truncated Nintendo Direct.

Yes, Dark Souls is finally making its way to a Nintendo system. Get ready for a very fun game Nintendo fans. Not to mention the fact that the frame rate disparity pretty much confirms that there won't be any cross-platform play for PVP fans. It's also headed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. For instance, being able to take the game with you would be great if you were working on a new PVP build before you start engaging in online fights. The game focuses on exploration and encourges players to explore its open world environment. The remaster is a complete rework of the game from the ground up in a new game engine and will be available for PS4, Xbox, PC, and Switch. If the remastered version was exclusive to the Switch, we'd certainly be a lot more excited about it. Nevertheless, we're still getting a better-looking game than the original, with more content, and that's something to write home about.
