Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Chris Smalling, Ander Herrera and Marcus Rashford were among the smiling faces pictured in the snap as United gear up for their return to Premier League action against Stoke on Monday night.

However, despite a disappointing display in the Red Devils' goalless draw against Southampton, Mkhitaryan was handed a start against the Championship side in the FA Cup.

The manager has now set his sights on wantaway Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, whose move to Manchester City has reportedly boiled off due to the Citizens' disinclination to meet Arsenal's asking price.

The Armenian shone for United last season, when given the opportunity, finishing the campaign with 11 goals.

And, speaking during a recent interview, Mourinho refused to rule out selling the former Dortmund man in the current transfer window.

'My approach to players is that every player has a price - doesn't matter who he is, the level, doesn't matter the prestige, the status, every player has a price, ' said the United boss.

"I don't think any of the teams near the top - Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and ourselves - are thinking they can spend money this January to close the gap".

The 36-year-old made an incredible comeback from a serious knee injury, which kept him sidelined for seven months, but he has not featured since Boxing Day and Jose Mourinho admits the striker is "not totally happy" with his fitness.
