Nintendo Direct Mini Apparently Coming Today With Dark Souls Remastered Announcement

Dark Souls Remastered is coming to Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but when will you be able to play it?

Why all the resolution talk? Dark Souls Remastered will be released on 5/25/2018 for all of the major gaming platforms but right now we don't know how much it will cost and it is not available for pre-order yet.

Yesterday, Bandai Namco Entertainment delighted fans with the announcement of a Dark Souls trilogy box set that is set to include Dark Souls Remastered, Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin, and Dark Souls 3: The Fires Fade Edition, exclusively for PlayStation 4.

Dark Souls Remastered will retail for $39.99. Well, during the miniature Nintendo Direct that took place this morning, Nintendo revealed that Dark Souls: Remastered is, in fact, coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Rumours have persisted that FromSoftware classic Dark Souls, and potentially its sequel, could be in line for high-profile remasters on current systems, and a potentially new leak is causing fan speculation to go into overdrive.

In addition to visual improvements and the obvious performance upgrades, From Software has also bumped up support to include up to six players for multiplayer mode as well. There is no HDR lighting for the PS4 Pro version, ' wrote Dark Souls community head honcho, Vaati (via GearNuke). The original Dark Souls only allowed 1-4 players per realm, but the enhanced edition bumps the number up to 6 players, allowing more chances of teamwork or betrayal.

Something to keep in mind is that FROMSOFT also joined in with Nintendo to develop games for the Switch, it's possible that the remaster may be making its way to Switch, which has been rumored quite the many times.

Interestingly enough, the ports for the Xbox One, PC and PS4 versions of the game will be handled by a separate company over the Switch version according to some of the rumors. The game's world is so memorable, and its action so thrilling, that it might invade your thoughts even when you aren't playing, silently urging you to escape the real world and return to this far more treacherous one.
