Dark Souls Remastered will be released in the West on May 25, while the Dark Souls Trilogy Box will release a day earlier in Japan. On the Xbox One X and PS 4 Pro, it will look very well, but we don't know how it will look like on the Nintendo Switch. On the base, PS 4 and Xbox One Dark Souls Remastered will run at 1080p 60 FPS. The spokesperson also refused to comment on which engine the Remaster will be running on, as rumours circulate that it might share the same engine as Dark Souls 3. Although there is no mention of a new lighting system - or a transition to a new engine - the teams confirmed that the PC version will feature 2K textures.
Dark Souls Remastered will launch this May in all regions on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
This practice isn't uncommon for players on the Steam platform, often being entitled to discounts when owning the original game when a remaster is inbound.

While the biggest enhancements over the original come in the form of increased resolution and framerate, Dark Souls: Remastered has a couple of features that should cement its status as the definitive version.
