More than just a new "Mario Tennis" game, Nintendo debuted a gaggle of new games headed to the Switch this year.
This week's Nintendo Direct Mini presentation featured a look at Dark Souls, Mario Tennis Aces, The World Ends With You Final Remix and ports of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Hyrule Warriors.
The Mario Tennis games have always been a fixture on Nintendo consoles, with the Game Boy Color, N64 and GBA titles arguably the best ones in the franchise.
Kirby Star Allies (March 16) - This game was originally announced at E3, but Nintendo has confirmed some "new abilities" for Kirby and co. when the game launches in March. A remake of cult classic Shadow Of The Colossus is coming in February, while Bayonetta 1 and 2 are getting an exclusive Switch release in the same month, followed by a third game in the series, also a Nintendo exclusive.
Other announcements included confirmation that Payday 2 was coming to Switch on February 27th, and free DLC for Super Mario Odyssey launching in February. We'll be sure to keep you posted, since I'm sure any Souls fan would be more than happy to get their hands on it. This one includes split Joycon play, but it also comes with a whole new character that seems to be an easy mode in and of himself.

But it could be a cause for concern for Cavaliers fans who are growing impatient with the way the team is playing right now. The Warriors will need step it up defensively, as they have allowed an average of 110 points over the past 10 games.
This is considered one of the better Wii U games, so it's good to see a port of it coming to Switch on May 4. The update also adds new filters to the game's snapshot feature. No exact release date has been given yet, but the game will arrive this spring. These remasters will include not only updated graphics but "rebuilt lighting and SFX similar to Dark Souls 3". A new mode was announced featuring Luigi called Balloon World.
Payday 2 is an action-packed, four-player co-op shooter that lets players don the masks of the original Payday crew - Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf and Chains - as they descend on Washington D.C. for an epic crime spree.
Mai, Yuri, Kula, and more are all back in SNK Heroes: Tag Team Frenzy, a fighting game featuring all the main gals of King of Fighters. Otherwise, the Switch version also delivers two player local multiplayer, 1080p visuals in TV mode (no word on portable resolution) and all the paid DLC.
For about fifteen minutes, Nintendo sped through news on over a dozen current and upcoming Nintendo Switch titles.
