The Argentine forward has a remarkable goal scoring record, with 18 goals in 22 Serie A games this season, and would make an excellent addition to the United squad.

Icardi is said to have not closed the door on this avenue just yet, but considering his current deal includes a buyout clause, and Inter won't accept less, Raiola isn't exactly needed right now.

The 50-year-old represents a number of high-profile footballers and was instrumental in helping United sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku.

According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport (h/t Metro), Raiola-who does not represent Icardi-approached him with an offer from United, but the Argentina worldwide did not want the agent to act on his behalf.

Reacting to the government's move, a JuD spokesman said the action is an attempt to "appease the U.S and India". This decision was taken in the backdrop of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) meeting in Paris.

The same story reveals that the Inter skipper turned down an approach from Raiola to replace his wife as his representative but the super agent is still hoping to act as an intermediary in a potential summer deal.

However, that sort of money is nothing compared to what he could earn at United and the Mirror claim Raiola has now positioned himself as the lead broker to try and negotiate a move for Icardi to Old Trafford this summer. The Premier League giants have been trying to add more quality players up front, though the striker is also wanted by their domestic rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.

With a list of top clubs across the European continent being linked with the player, it will be interesting to see where he ends up in the near future.
