Jurgen Klopp: Sadio Mane is back to his best

Liverpool's Sadio Mane locked his recent underwhelming form behind him and threw away the key after a blistering performance against Porto in the last 16 Champions League tie on Wednesday night.

Roberto Firmino completed the scoring to hand the Portuguese league leaders their heaviest-ever home defeat in European competition and virtually guarantee Liverpool a quarter-final place. Liverpool have not failed to score during their last 11 Champions League matches (including qualifying) and their total 28 is the best of any team in the competition.

Salah became the second-fastest Liverpool player to the 30-goal landmark in the club's history - behind only George Allan whose 27 games in 1896 was seven faster.

Klopp insists Liverpool can compete with Europe's best even if no-one is giving his side much of a chance in the Champions League.

LIVERPOOL have put on a counter attacking clinic in the Champions League to set a new English record for knock out stage wins, hitting five against FC Porto.

Whether or not he chooses to play his normal starting XI for the second leg is not the point.

Fannie Mae needs taxpayer money again after $6.5 billion loss
That lower rate, estimated at 20 percent, is expected to benefit Fannie Mae in 2018, officials said in the Wednesday report. Fannie Mae said its 2017 net income was $2.5 billion, compared with 2016's net income of $12.3 billion.

For all Liverpool's attacking verve and ability to thrill, it is often their inability to control a game that is their undoing.

"We played great football from the beginning until the end". "We have to be very wary of Porto, a very physical team, strong, well organized and always with a plan. They do a great job behind, they give [the ball] to us and lucky boys, we score all the time!"

Firmino got the goal his performance deserved with a simple finish inside the left post from Milner's cross with 20 minutes remaining, and Mane took advantage of some lax defending to seal the win with a fine strike from distance late on. We came here to create the basis for the second leg at Anfield - and that's what we did, not more, not less.

"Everyone is always talking about the three, but the team make (it) easier because without the team we are nothing", said a smiling Mane, with the match ball cradled in his arms. "I enjoyed the fifth goal the most".

"They actually dominated down the flanks and then up front, tonight was Mane's night and Firmino scored but the goal by Salah, which is their second goal, I mean there is a player playing with such confidence at the moment".
