Denver Broncos: Case Keenum was a different player in 2017

What it means: The Broncos moved quickly, as Keenum figures to be the first of the high-profile quarterbacks available in free agency to sign a contract when things officially open Wednesday.

The Broncos were one of four teams that were viewed as the favorites to sign Cousins, the premier quarterback in this year's free-agent class.

But the Broncos are desperate to get back to contender status after slumping to a record of 5-11 in a 2017 season in which they tried Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch and Brock Osweiler at quarterback.

The University of Houston star and former Texans Quarterback led the Minnesota Vikings to the NFC championship game last season as Keenum started 14 games going 11-3 in 2017.

Lt General DP Vats, Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Sameer Uranv are contesting from Haryana, Karnataka and Jharkhand respectively. Harnath Singh Yadav, a former MLC, too came from the SP (in 2007); his Yadav community is a strong support base of the SP.

There's no guarantee that the Jets land their No. 1 quarterback target in Kirk Cousins.

With a sparkling new stadium, stacked roster and head coaching stability, the Vikings jumped to the head of the line of potential suitors for Cousins.

Keenum must now go out and prove Elway and the front office right in their evaluation of him as being the better fit for the Broncos. And he met Gary Kubiak on a golf course.

At this juncture, with the Broncos out of the wild west that is the quarterback hunt, NY is in a far better position to find their quarterback of the future than it was at the beginning of the legal tampering period on Monday. And if there's one position they need an upgrade at, it's under center. The Cardinals have a big need at quarterback, too, and are reportedly prepared to make Cousins the highest-paid player in National Football League history. There's a good chance the always-aggressive Elway wants to take another swing at the quarterback position in this year's draft.
