Domestic violence charges against her boyfriend were dropped but four misdemeanour counts of battery were upheld.
U.S. actress Heather Locklear has been charged with several counts of battery against a sheriff's officer.
Sgt. Eric Buschow of Ventura County Sheriff's Office told the Los Angeles Times that more police officers had to be called to Locklear's property in Thousand Oaks, California, because she was proving so hard to detain and get into a police patrol vehicle, becoming "combative" when officers attempted to use force.
Sgt. Eric Buschow of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department told The Los Angeles Times that when police arrived, Locklear "was extremely hostile and uncooperative and at one point became combative with the deputies".
Buschow told the LA Times more police had to be called to the house because she was physically resisting arrest.
The officer said deputies had struggled to get Ms Locklear, who also starred in United States soap Melrose Place, into a police patrol auto.

The 56-year-old "Melrose Place" actress was charged Monday with four misdemeanor counts of battery on an officer or emergency personnel, and one misdemeanor count of resisting or obstructing an officer.
Locklear was taken into custody after deputies found evidence to support the claim that Locklear had battered her boyfriend, causing injury, authorities said.
TMZ reported last week that Locklear was so violent that police had to hobble her.
The actress is scheduled for arraignment today in Ventura County Superior Court and her representatives have not replied to comment on the situation. Sadly, this entire bad mom moment all went down in front of Locklear's daughter, Ava Sambora [VIDEO], 20, with former husband ex-Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora who was also trying to defuse the argument.
She was not charged with hitting her boyfriend, even though that's why she was originally arrested.
