The Chinese smartphone giant has finally announced a new open beta program for the OnePlus 5 as well as OnePlus 5T. The update brings a lot of changes, including a bump of Android version to 8.1 Oreo.
You will receive the update over the air only if you have already flashed another OxygenOS beta build. According to what the changelog which has been mentioned by OnePlus, there is a slew of new features which have been added to the very new update.
OnePlus 5 users can jump in joy! Coolest one, the Phone app gets an update that includes a new auto pickup gesture, which can allow the user to pick up the incoming call by the raising phone (such type of gestures were introduced by Samsung, since Galaxy S5). The user needs to subscribe to its Open Beta program.
Aust shares seen up on tariff exemption

Interestingly, this update also includes the security patch for February 2018 from Google. OnePlus does also provide instructions on how to sideload it onto your smartphone. OnePlus hasn't said how many betas there will be before the stable version rolls out, but where this is the sixth beta, it should be rolling out pretty soon. However, there is no official announcement regarding the older phones' 3/3T 8.1 updates as they are on Android 8.0 already.
