Adobe's research has shown that jobs of the future will demand both creativity and creative problem solving skills, two different capabilities that 97% of educators recognize as being essential for students to learn in school.

Earlier this month, Gov. Mary Fallin signed a bill that raises teachers' salaries by an average of $6,100. The teachers plan to hold a large rally at the capitol this afternoon. The teachers also won pay raises for support staff such as cafeteria workers and bus drivers, and secured $70 million in recurring revenue for classroom supplies.

These movements were largely inspired by a nine-day statewide teacher walkout in West Virginia that began February 22, resulting in their winning the 5 percent pay increase they wanted. After years of being undervalued, teachers have swarmed the state Capitol and have pressured their lawmakers to better fund education.

But Preist said the efforts by teachers to win more money for education is not over.

On the same day Oklahoma teachers walked out of classrooms, teachers in Kentucky staged a massive rally near the state Capitol to protest education budget cuts and pension changes. It also gives $1,250 raises for support staff and adds $50 million in education funding.

The Arizona teachers are demanding a 20 percent pay hike from an average of $43,280 a year for elementary school teachers and annual pay of $46,470 for high school teachers.

As a result of the teacher walkout, the district announced that it would be adding one hour to the end of each school day through the end of the year.

Spark for Education is now available to students and teachers for free of charge. They drew honks from passing cars before heading inside to lobby lawmakers.

They want the parents to know what the issues are.

The success of West Virginia teachers inspired educators in the other states to follow suit.
