Local resident Jordan Dodin climbs onto a roof to protect the house from fire in Wattle Grove on Saturday night. But high temperatures remain a cause for concern, Rural Fire Service Deputy Commissioner Rob Rogers warned.

Authorities said search crews found the body of an adult male, believed to be in his mid-70s deceased inside the residence. One was discovered alive and one was deceased. While the fire was quickly under control, some hotspots remained. No injuries were reported.

The victim's name has not been released.

According to officials, crews were hampered by materials inside the home.

"This tragic fire serves as a reminder about the importance of practicing fire safety", Rutledge added.
