Close on the heels of the impending launch of the OnePlus 6, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has rolled out the latest software update for its 2017 smartphones, the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. Of all the changes listed by OnePlus, only one is exclusive to the OnePlus 5T. The feature was first spotted in a beta release and it draws inspiration from the iPhone X.

The gestures added include a single upward swipe from the middle of the bottom bezel which will take the user to the home screen, the left and the light upward swipe from the bottom bezel will work as the back button gesture. For multi-tasking, you swipe up from the bottom centre of the screen and hold your finger in the centre of the display until multitasking cards show up. The feature will likely come out-of-the-box with the OnePlus 6 which is set to come with a display notch and a larger screen-to-body ratio. Also, there are some new optimisations in the gaming mode including power saving and pausing adaptive brightness. The update will rollout widely in a few days so do make sure to keep checking by heading to Settings System Update.
