The battered telecom sector companies will be reporting another set of subdued numbers for the January-March quarter, with revenues likely to show a correction of as much as 40 per cent, analysts have said. According to the report, the new service is called JioHomeTV, which will offer SD and HD channels at pocket-friendly prices.
The media reports further claim that the Jio Home TV would allow users to watch SD channels at Rs 200 per month while SD and HD channels would be charged at Rs 400 per month.
Reliance Jio has culminated into a household name, thanks to the ultra-affordable 4G plans, the new telco's entry transformed the telecommunications industry in India where data is cheaper than ever and voice calls are practically free.
Concerning the launch of the service, the product is now in the testing phase, which means that Reliance Jio will soon launch it in the Indian market.

Reliance Jio's new television broadcasting service is based on eMBMS or Enhanced Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service. The plan is already listed on the official MyJio app. Moreover, the eMBMS technology does not require a working internet connection for streaming content as it is distributed in the broadcast mode for offline availability and access. The service has completed its test run and is expected to launch in a few weeks.
The latest news follows an earlier announcement from Reliance Jio about performing "eMBMS broadcast stream across Pan-India". The report speculates that the JioBroadcast app may be rebranded as the Jio Home TV app.
Coming to the Enhanced Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (eMBMS) technology, it is a hybrid technology that clubs the capabilities of TV channel and radio ecosystem to create a sustainable solution for offering HD content widely.
While there has been no confirmation or announcement from Reliance Jio regarding this, the company past year, during its quarterly update for the third quarter stated that it had successfully performed eMBMS broadcast streams across India.
