Bucks' Ownership Meeting With Mike Budenholzer, Ettore Messina

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski says that both the Bucks and Raptors have former Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer as "the focus" of their coaching searches.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported the update and noted the discussions are taking place in NY.

Budenholzer and the Toronto Raptors engaged in contract talks over the weekend and the Milwaukee Bucks plan to revisit discussions about their job opening this week, per the report.

Budenholzer has been an National Basketball Association head coach for five seasons, and while Messina has yet to coach permanently from the top seat in the United States, he's one of the most decorated head coaches in EuroLeague history. The sides parted ways last month following a 24-58 campaign. Kalamian has served as an assistant since 2015.

Jason Witten expects Dez Bryant to sign with Packers
The team parted ways with their longtime veteran wideout Jordy Nelson who went on to sign with the Oakland Raiders . Witten retired from the NFL and joined ESPN's Monday Night Football broadcast as the analyst, replacing Jon Gruden.

Saying that, it's equally possible that Budenholzer and Messina could be the final two candidates, and one of them could be the team's next head coach. He did spend time with the Los Angeles Lakers as a consultant during the 2011-12 season.

"I would be honored if that happens, and I would be honored as a European; as a person that has coached for many years in the EuroLeague and has worked together with a lot of European coaches", Messina said. "But at the same time, I'm aware that it's something I can not control".

This interview will allow the Bucks to get a leg up on the Toronto Raptors, who recently fired their head coach Dwane Casey last week. The Bucks finished the season under interim coach Joe Prunty and made the playoffs as the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference.
