Don't worry, you still have time to research. But today is the deadline to not to come to City Hall to register to vote. Here's what you need to know before heading out to the polls.

AARP Kentucky state president Charlotte Whittaker says it's especially important for those ages 50-plus to cast a ballot.

Unsure if you're registered?

Are you a USA citizen and resident of California? "Once you've marked your mail ballot, send it back right away and we'll start processing it so it can be counted right when the polls close on election day".

Are you not in jail or on parole for a felony conviction?

"The mobile app is "Vote for Alabama", but if you choose to go to the computer, go to alabamavotes.gov and you'll be able to register for the first time or change your voting record". The sheriff, district attorney, county assessor, Superior Court seats and two out of five seats on the county Board of Supervisors will likely be decided in June.

The processing of these voter ballots will continue through Election Day, as well as during the official canvass. Voter registrations must be postmarked or received in the County Clerk-Recorder's office by May 21 for voters to be eligible to vote on June 5.

The Registrar of Voters Office said observers are invited to view the processing and counting of the ballots, but shall not interfere with the election process.

Election Day is June 5, and the polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

The process started in California on January 1, 2017, but the June election is the first big election where it will be used.
