Mets' Cespedes sidelined with hip strain

Mets slugger Yoenis Cespedes is out of the lineup because of a strained right hip flexor and could be headed to the disabled list.

Cespedes has been dealing with the nagging injury for more than a week, though he's described it as discomfort in his quadriceps.

The move was announced by the team Wednesday and is retroactive to Monday.

Prime Minister Borisov pointed out that joint work should continue, especially in countering terrorism and organized crime. This is our strategic choice, "said the French leader". "But we should not block the projects, if they delay the reforms".

"The decision was pretty clear that we needed to get him on the DL, and get him back to where he needs to be", Mets manager Mickey Callaway said Wednesday morning.

Cespedes is hitting.255/.316/.474 with 8 home runs and 28 RBIs this season.

Had the Mets made a decision to play if safe with Cespedes and put him on the DL before their game Cincinnati Reds last Wednesday (in which he was hobbling in the outfield), he would've been eligible to return having only missed six games (three off days and one rain out).
