Xiaomi has already released the teaser of Redmi S2. It looks like, Xiaomi has taken this as a challenge as the company is teasing this device with a hashtag #RealYou, to compete against the Oppo's Realme brand, as the company is all set to launch the camera-centric Xiaomi Redmi S2 in India. The setup is similar to the one found on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. The new Redmi handset was seen in the teaser by Xiaomi in various social media channels, though not many details were revealed. In terms of core hardware, the Redmi S2 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The front camera also features facial recognition technology to unlock the device.

Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, IR Blaster, 3.5mm audio jack, and a micro USB port. Both variants will go on sale in China starting May 17 in Champagne Gold, Platinum Silver, and Rose Gold colour options.
