England drop Ben Stokes for Australia and India T20Is

Ben Stokes will continue his recovery from injury with England during their Vitality IT20 matches against Australia and India.

Ahead of the three-match T20 worldwide series against India, England have suffered a setback as all-rounder Ben Stokes has been left out from the 14-man squad.

All-rounders Sam and Tom Curran have been included in the squad.

That remains a possibility as the Durham star will travel with the squad selected for those three matches and the preceding one-off Twenty20 fixture against Australia, which will follow the ongoing one-day global series, at Edgbaston on June 27.

The England Cricket Board has opted to rest pacer Mark Wood while speedster Jake Ball has been recalled into the squad.

Conference of Mayors organized the trip, which was announced prior to Wednesday's executive order. She told children to "be kind and nice to each other" as she left for another classroom.

Batsman Jonny Bairstow and all-rounder Moeen Ali, who were rested for the winter T20 matches, have also returned to the 14-man lineup.

"Woakes has had an injection for the knee issue last Monday and will now undertake a rehabilitation and conditioning programme to address both injuries". The ECB said on Monday he would not be available at least until the ODI series against India which starts on July 12.

England play Australia in a one-off T20 at Edgbaston on June 27 ahead of a three-match series against India, which gets underway with the first match at Old Trafford on July 3.

That option still appears possible, because the key all-rounder will travel with the squad chosen for those three matches and the one-off fixture against Australia which will follow the ongoing one-day global series - at Edgbaston on June 27.

"Barring a miracle he is unlikely to be fit before the second Test, so we left him out from the squad", Abedin said.
