Bourdain, 61, and Spade, 55, died three days and a continent apart this week amid a new USA report showing an uptick in suicides rates in almost every state since 1999. "His travel schedule was gruelling and he often seemed quite beat-up from it, as anyone would be", a source who worked closely with Bourdain in the past year told People. The network quickly produced an hour-long remembrance that premiered on Friday night and will re-air Sunday at 10 p.m. ET. He also empowered other writers.

"Every time he would walk on set I would always shout at him, 'In my next life I'm coming back as Anthony Bourdain!'" she said.

"We riffed well during our almost 25-minute talk at the bar, and it really was his nature to pick out details of a subject and just talk about that to see where it would go", he recalled.

"He is absolutely the last person in the world I would have ever dreamed would do something like this", Gladys Bourdain, who was a longtime editor at The New York Times, said.

The visit was featured in season 6, episode 9 of "No Reservations."

That episode will be followed by the tribute special. "They said we're going to eat the same thing as Mr. Bourdain", Schroeder said.

Following official confirmation of Bourdain's death from his employer, CNN, Argento took to Twitter on Friday to pay tribute.
