The 20th-annual National Take Your Dog to Work Day, established by Pet Sitters International, took place Friday with pups throughout Philadelphia accompanying their owners to work. Approximately 300 businesses across the US participate in this holiday annually and it is a beneficial celebration for pet owners and non-pet owners alike; even if you do not own a dog yourself, you can still take advantage of the opportunity to interact with other peoples' dogs and show your support for them.

Petbarn Ipswich store manager Amanda Matthew said there were a lot of facts to support having a dog in the office.

Many scientific studies have concluded that the presence of pets can substantially reduce a person's stress level in the workplace, increased job satisfaction, team co-operation and morale.
