Details of the Magic Leap mixed reality headset have finally been unveiled by the project's developers during a Twitch stream. Magic Leap One is built for creators who want to change how we experience the world. While it's true that the company still hasn't shipped anything, its partnership with AT&T and promise that developers will be getting hardware before the autumn chill sets in is at least a promising sign that the company's future may not be as bleak as it seemed a couple of years ago.
The start-up revealed its first headset, Magic Leap One, late a year ago. That would make it more powerful than Nintendo's Switch video game console, which runs on the Tegra X1.
However, Magic Leap isn't selling anything yet.
That's not all, either. It's not clear what that means financially, but will be the exclusive U.S. consumer distributor for the headset.
The deal will combine Magic Leap's headset with AT&T's network and distribution, likely relying on the AT&T's expanding 5G network.

But CEO Rony Abovits teased on Twitter that more information about ML Next is headed our way later this week.
There'll be full support for Vulkan (which is recommended by Magic Leap), OpenGL 4.5 and OpenGL ES 3.1. However, it's still hard to see how this translates - or what the field of view is - without actually getting our hands on the device.
