Oppo Find X with Camera Slider, 3D Face Unlock launched in India

OPPO launched its flagship smartphone, OPPO Find X, in India.

Under the hood, the smartphone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. But Oppo's announcement on Thursday in which it revealed the flagship Find X smartphone, shows that the company is serious about getting competitive with the likes of Apple and Samsung in the premium segment. It has an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and uses Gorilla Glass 5 for safety.

The Chinese smartphone maker, Oppo is set to mark its return with the old Find series. Doing away with the screen notch, the phone has an 8MP selfie camera module that pops out on top. The phone comes in two colours - bordeaux red and glacier blue - and will be available for preorders on Flipkart starting July 25. For comparison, the iPhone X has only 82.9 per cent screen to body ratio. What you then see is a 25 megapixel front-facing camera, a dual 16 megapixel + 20 megapixel rear camera setup and the 3D facial scanning system. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 845 SoC with Adreno 630 GPU and 8GB of RAM. According to Oppo, they have used 3D Structured Light Technology which has never been used on any Android smartphone. The 3D Structured Light Technology scans 15,000 facial points and is 20 times safer than fingerprint recognition for unlocking the phone, as claimed by Oppo. Benefitting from the unique COP packaging technology of a flexible screen, the Find X has an ultra-thin border, 1.65mm on the left and right border, 1.91mm on the top border, and 3.4mm on the bottom border, which increases screen-to-body ratio to 93.8%-the largest screen-to-body ratio in the mobile phone market today.

Blackfly Flying Car is All-Electric, Autonomous, Awesome
According to the company, the amphibious BlackFly has already completed more than 1,000 flights and flown over 10,000 miles. Its makers say it will eventually cost the same as a typical sports-utility auto , but early models will be more expensive.

OPPO also announced a very special edition - OPPO FIND X Automobili Lamborghini Edition that was launched globally as a part of its global, strategic partnership with Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. ("Lamborghini") at the launch. The 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display dominates the entire front of the phone. It comes with 256GB on-board storage which can not be expanded. The motorized camera module hides a 16MP + 20MP dual rear camera and a 25MP front camera. Lastly, the phone is backed by a 3730mAh battery with Oppo's VOOC charging technology. Another country rival, Xiaomi, also launched a phone, the Mi Mix 2, in Spain past year, and is expected to unveil the Mi A2 later this month in the same country. Oppo said the whole process only takes 0.5 of a second to complete, and in my time spent with the Find X, I would say it was quick. The smartphone comes with a motorised slider mechanism that houses both the front and the rear cameras on it. The device boots Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.1 out of the box. It packs a 3,730mAh battery which comes with VOOC flash charging. Oppo further claims that the failure rate of face recognition is only one in a million, which is much lower than fingerprint recognitio failure of one in 50,000.

Like in the case of all other smartphoens, the Find X will also provide support for 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Global Positioning System including USB-Type C port.
