Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attend Prince Louis' christening

The Duchess of Cambridge paused her maternity leave on Tuesday for a special occasion, close to her heart - literally.

Dressed in a suitably green Givenchy dress, Meghan and Prince Harry were briefly greeted before taking off for their first engagement.

As part of their two-day visit, the duke and duchess will visit Croke Park, Ireland's largest sporting arena and the country's main Gaelic football stadium, as well as the Irish Emigration Museum, Trinity College Dublin and a small start-up called DogPatch Labs.

Meghan looked sensational in a simple black dress with a matching fascinator as she clung to her husband's arm. They will attend a commemorative service, followed by a flypast including up to 100 aircraft.

Markle's appearance on the Palace balcony will be her second following her Buckingham debut at Trooping the Colour at the beginning of June.
