Rodolfo Rodriguez 92 is recovering after a brutal beating in South L.A. last week

According to KTLA, 92-year-old Rodolfo Rodriguez was walking after eating dinner on the Fourth of July.

Rodriguez was released from the hospital Thursday.

Mendoza told CBS Los Angeles that he's still stunned and struggling to understand the attack on his grandfather, who has USA citizenship. Here's what you need to know.

A neighbor saw the attack and ran out of her home to scream at the suspects.

"It was terrible, terrible, terrible", she said. Mendoza told the outlet.

The witness spoke to KCBS in L.A. and said she asked the woman why she attacked the man.
