Sergio Ramos sends message to Cristiano Ronaldo over Juventus transfer

A fee of €105 million has been agreed between Real Madrid and Juventus with the final details yet to be confirmed by both sides.

"They have been absolutely wonderful for nine years".

"I only have feelings of enormous gratitude for this club, for this fanbase and for this city".

However, I feel that the time has come to begin a new stage of my life and that is why I have asked the club to accept my transfer. "I am sorry it is like this and I ask all of you, especially our followers, to please understand me", wrote the Portuguese forward in Marca newspaper.

Ronaldo joined Real from Manchester United for £80m in 2009 and scored a club-record 451 goals and won the Ballon D'Or - awarded to the world's best footballer - in 2008, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017. While part of Los Blancos, Ronaldo won four Champions League titles, two La Liga championships, two Spanish Cups, and three FIFA Club World Cups.

The signing of the latest Ballon d'Or victor and top scorer in the UCL for the last six seasons represents a major coup for Juventus, which has had a stranglehold on the Italian title since 2012 but has not won Europe's top prize since 1996.

In recent years they've failed to win the CL with Ronaldo often inflicting the damage.

French investigators say fire caused 2016 EgyptAir crash
The BEA said Egyptian investigators had not published their final report and had not followed up on its proposals for further work on the debris.

Other players targeted by Spanish tax authorities in recent years include Lionel Messi, Javier Mascherano and Luka Modric.

Juventus president Andrea Agnelli was at Ronaldo's hotel in Greece on Tuesday as discussions continued over the move.

In Real Madrid's statement on the website, they said: "Cristiano Ronaldo will always be one of the greatest symbols of the club and a unique reference for the next generation".

"Real Madrid has conquered my heart, and that of my family, and that is why more than ever I want to say thank you".

Ronaldo signed a five-year deal with Madrid in 2016, saying he wanted to end his career at the club.

Away from Spain, Gianluigi Buffon, along with Johan Wiland and Manuel Neuer, are the goalkeepers that saw Ronaldo's strikes ending up into the back of their nets more times than anyone else.
