A United States Secret Service agent died after suffering a stroke while supporting President Donald Trump's trip to Scotland over the weekend, the Secret Service and multiple law enforcement sources tell CNN.
Mr Remagen was a veteran agent with 19 years' experience and was a "dedicated professional of the highest order", the United States secret service said in a statement.
Trump stayed at the resort and played golf there last Saturday, between a meeting of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation military alliance and a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Obviously, there are a range of things on which I, and our UK Government, do not agree with President Trump, as do many people across Scotland, some of whom have used their right to protest to make their views known during the visit".
He subsequently received care from Scottish medics, but died on Tuesday, with his family beside him. A man apparently shot himself along the north fence of the White House midday, according to the Secret Service, which also said he was being treated for the wound.
The couple then headed on to the Trump Turnberry resort near Girvan for the final part of their four-day visit to the UK.
They were jeered by a group of demonstrators who had gathered on Turnberry beach but Eric Trump described them as "phoney, paid protesters".
The unprecedented operation is believed to have cost £5 million, with the UK Government footing the bill.
The arrest relates to an incident where a paraglider flew over the U.S. president's Turnberry resort and unfurled a protest sign, Police Scotland said.
Of the estimated 11,000 people protesting in planned events in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee, no arrests were made.
Assistant Chief Constable Mark Williams stated that officers were committed to tracing the person who flew the aircraft.
However, its parent company, Golf Recreation Scotland, remains wholly owned by Mr Trump via an entity known as the Donald J Trump Revocable Trust, a New York-based state grantor trust. My thanks to all'.
